The New Year, for OnePlus, meant a new Android release. While the official release of Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T has been slow, several users are reporting that their phone has received a large update (over 900 mb) which installs the new Android operating system.
OnePlus’ Carl Pei announced (on New Year’s Eve!) the roll-out of Android N for all OP3 and OP3T users:
2) Android N stable OTA for the OP3 and the OP3T. Gradual rollout will begin later tonight.

In case you missed it, Android 7’s most-wanted features include:
- Better 3D graphical processing with Vulkan API
- Improvements for VR
- Side-by-side running apps and quick-switching between apps
- Better battery life
- Improvements to customization and notifications
You can update via the easy OTA update, or you can update earlier than the rest with some technicalities.
Download a VPN app, such as Opera VPN. Open it, connect, and change the connection to Canada or Germany. Go back to settings and search for a new OTA update.
Download the signed ROM for OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T, and transfer it to the phone internal memory. Upgrade by installing from internal memory via the recovery menu. (Turn on your phone while holding power and volume down.)
